Ana Iwataki was born and raised in Los Angeles and is recently returned to her hometown after five years in Paris. She has worked in art institutions and galleries in both cities and is deeply interested in exchanges between their art scenes. Previous positions include Associate Director, Commonwealth and Council, Los Angeles and Exhibitions and Publications Manager, the Chalet Society, Paris. She has curated exhibitions independently and in collaboration with Marion Vasseur Raluy. She co-directed the Parisian project space Shanaynay for two years, during which time they organized an exhibition at Fahrenheit by FLAX. As a curator, writer, and translator, her work approaches communication via multiple angles and through varying lenses—across languages, distances, and cultures.
