March 8 at 7pm: Artist talk with Edgar Arceneaux, Petite Salle at Centre Pompidou
March 10 4-6pm: Opening at Studio 13/16, Centre Pompidou
April 8: Screening of produced films with the presence of the artist
For the first time, Studio 13/16 at Centre Pompidou welcomes an international artist-in-residence. Edgar Arceneaux and his collaborator Kurt Forman transform the space into a true video studio. From the script to the mise-en-scène, Arceneaux and Forman will guide Parisian teenagers in the steps of video production, with the aim of interrogating social norms, questions of identity and community, thus creating a unique dialogue between the participants and two artists, between France and the United States.
The FLAX Projects are supported, in part, by the FLAX Creative Circle including The Skylark Foundation, Katharina and Thierry Leduc, John-Mark Horton, and Olga Garay-English.
