The residency is designed to offer artists their own time to undertake and develop artistic research and to network. It provides a ground for individual reflection, a re-evaluation of artistic expression and/or exploring new fields for upcoming projects or site-specific work.
Created in 1999, the Fondation d’entreprise Ricard Prize was the first one to be awarded to emerging talents in the young French art scene. The Fondation d’entreprise Ricard Prize is awarded by a jury of art collectors, patrons of major contemporary art museums, and the curators of previous Fondation d’entreprise Ricard Prize exhibitions. Its special feature is the purchase of a work by the winner which will appear in the permanent collection of the Centre Pompidou thanks to the donation of the foundation.
